BackupBuddy updates can be made using two different methods:

Automatic Updates

After configuring your BackupBuddy License Keys, BackupBuddy update notices will be available from the WordPress dashboard.

Manual Updates

To manually update to the latest version of BackupBuddy, download the latest BackupBuddy zip file from the iThemes Member Panel and follow the instructions for Installation.
Note: When manually updating you should first Deactivate and then Delete the existing version of BackupBuddy (usually through the WordPress plugin admin but can be by FTP client or control panel file manager tools or other preferred method) as the manual installation methods will not do this for you automatically and will either fail or may leave you with an indeterminate installation.
