I sticked to Shopp, because switching to another system is way to risky now (and costly for my client). As soon as a migrating script from Shopp > Exchange is available I will reconsider this decision. But when you want to start a new shop I would definitely not advise Shopp. Updates are a nightmare and I really hate their messy templates.

What shop plugin did you end up going with? I'm also having trouble getting my shop to function correctly. The only thing I can think of is to have categories for English / Spanish in my case and then put the products in their respective languages.

Hi Guest_Jonas_,

Sorry for my late reply, but I dropped Exchange for now. To many issues concerning multiple languages. This shop is created for the US market (like most stuff done by Americans), not for doing business internationally. US = the world...

Hi Elise,

I found it. Under the "Advanced" button there is an option "Multilingual content setup". When I tick "Make 'Products' translatable" I can indeed translate my products.

Hi Erwin

Does your shop really work? My products aren't distinguished between two languages. I see always both products in the store. And how you managed to translate editable labels like the Purchase-Button from Stripe-Add-on and the three titles of Objectives, Intended Audience and Prerequisites? And also the titles of pages under settings, there is only one name for each site...

Hi Elise,

I've got it up and running now, but WPML found 1468 items to be translated in Exchange... I know that not all strings need to be translated, but how on earth am I going to distinguish admin-strings from user-strings? And aren't there translations available for big languages like French, German, Spanish, Portugese?

Hi erwinodendaal,

We have done some (limited) testing with WPML and haven't run into any issues as of yet.  Can you be more specific about the issue that you're having?  If you can give us some additional information, we'll take a look.

I would like to setup a store in both French and English. I installed the WPML to see if Exchange is translatable with this plugin. But it seems it is not.
Is it possible to have 1 exchange store in more than 1 language?
