I'd like to ask this because it isnt really clear on your site, faq or wiki.

If I were to buy builder the intention would be to create my own themes for either clients or to sell. Builder would be a framework that lets me achieve this.

with that in mind;

<p style="padding-left: 30px">Are the themes I make and export, 100% standalone and independent themes that do not require a builder install on the destination server?

If not could I edit, modify and re-design the base files into a 100% standalone theme and use it elsewhere/sell it as my own?

To me this is the whole reason to invest in a framework and most clients would be confused if you have to tell them they have 2 themes installed and 1 relies on the other to function.

It is not mandatory to use a Builder child theme. But it is highly recommended to do so. Technically you can just modify base Builder theme to your liking and use it as the active theme but remember that layout manager writes to and reads from database and hence you will need to export the layouts & views from the master site (if this is the approach you want to take) and import them into the client's sites.

You may not sell Builder. You are free to sell child themes.
