Ithemes Security Blocks Connection To Wordpress.comsecurity

I use Jetpack to publish directly to Facebook. However, to do so, Jetpack requires a connection to WordPress.com. That had been working correctly, but then suddenly Jetpack was no longer able to connect to WP.com with a 403 site-inaccessible error. Jetpack online suppport said call my host. I did so. The host tech team modified my htaccsss file and fixed the connection, and said that iThemes Security was denying the connection. They advised deactivating Security until you tell me how to be sure Wordpress.com is not blocked. Please do so. Thanks.
