Livin' the dream.
Matt is a developer and overall nerd. He rides motorcycles, turns wood, and conjures portmanteaus. Matt began working at iThemes in May of 2009. You can usually find Matt judging drinking coffee. If you are bringing him a cup, make sure it's black. That frilly crap isn't for him.
Dwell in possibility.
Kristen handles our communications. You can usually find her preparing email newsletters (so sign up!), writing blog posts and working on iThemes.com. Kristen enjoys writing (she's written two books!), reading, hiking, camping, trips to the library and OKC adventures with her husband, Jacob, and their four-pawed buddies, Ranger and Littleman.
The colors of your life depend on what you are willing to add to your palette.
As Office Wrangler Patti handles all our office needs. When not taking care of the office, Patti can be found at home with her husband Mark and their schnauzer Chloe. An adventurer at heart, Patti loves to travel to places she's never seen, do things she's never done. She loves to cook, garden and feed Mother Nature's children. Her favorite place is sitting on her back porch, drinking a cup of excellent coffee, looking over the fields during the day and watching the stars at night.
Live life to the fullest.
As the Communications Wrangler, Sarah handles social media and all the cool iThemes swag. You can also find her helping Kristen with blog posts and emails. When not at work, Sarah can be found at home with her husband Mike, and two boys, Devin and Braden, and their dogs Bailey and Riley. She enjoys long family walks with her puppies, playing video games, trips to the zoo with her children and watching her son play soccer. Sarah is originally from Texas and loves watching football games (Go Longhorns!)
I write my code the old fashioned way. One line at a time.
Chris is the lead developer of Builder. He writes the code so you don't have to. When he's not working on Builder, he's working with Linux, or watching anime.
Move fast and break things.
Glenn creates plugins, bugs, and other random issues for the iThemes support team. He lives outside of Raleigh, NC with his wife and four kids. If he's not programing or reading, he's probably changing a diaper or fishing a toy out of someone's nose.
Call me Robin.
Lew has been a Server Administrator and PHP developer for over a decade. In May of 2013, he joined the iThemes team as a plugin developer and loves it. He lives on a small farm in a small town in Georgia with his Wife, three kids, and a growing number of animals (24 and counting). Apart from coding, he enjoys hanging out with his family, eating delicious foods, tending to his farm, and listening to podcasts. He dislikes illogical arguments, laugh tracks, and corporatocracies.
Josh started with BackupBuddy support and is doing for plugin development (and still some support) but he's learning fast thanks to the learning/teaching environment we have here at iThemes. He's also pretty decent at foosball.
Timothy Jacobs is a WordPress developer at iThemes where he works on the eCommerce plugin, iThemes Exchange. Timothy has been using and working with WordPress since 2009. He lives in New York City, but Germany is his home away from home. The Ninth Doctor is his favorite and he’s eagerly awaiting a Torchwood reboot.
When I was young I never needed anyone, and making love was just for fun. Those days are gone.
Saylor writes blog posts and designs/develops various projects for iThemes. Saylor is a three-time inner tube water polo champion, looking for recruits for her next winning team. She loves gardening and is currently at war with all squirrels (if anyone has tips on how to get rid of squirrels, she's all ears). She enjoys painting, traveling and listening to podcasts (shoutout to Lore) and has loved the musical stylings of Celine Dion for as long as she can remember. If she's not traveling or hanging out in OKC, there’s a good chance she's in southwest Oklahoma doing manual labor, including roofing, or as her father likes to call it - “building character."
I don't know much, but I'm patient.
Restless, traveler, IT dinosaur (since 1985), husband and father. Currently stuck in the Netherlands with his wife and two kids. He's self employed since 1992, he's since probably spent more time traveling than working. Or working while traveling. Next to being a developer/analyst/project manager & consultant, he enjoys teaching, coaching, training, and transferring information and knowledge. He started using WordPress in 2006, has since learned a bit more and tries to share this with the iThemes community.
The limits of my language are the limits of my world.
A military brat raised all over the globe, Elise's first love is language. While she intends to refresh her German and French eventually, she is currently focusing on learning more coding languages, such as PHP. When not monitoring the forums, Elise can be found with one or more of her 6 pets (4 dogs, 2 cats), cuddled up with a good book (anything ranging from classic literature like Jane Austen to the works of Bryce Courtenay to zombie novels) or traveling anywhere she gets the chance to go.
Gerroald is passionate about web design and development. When he's not providing support for fellow developers, he's planning on going to the beach, dreaming about being on the beach or just might be on a beach. In between support and beach dreams, he's watching terrible B-rated horror and sci-fi movies.
I'm the operator with my pocket calculator.
Former Telecommunications R&D Engineer spanning the disciplines all the way from research to design to development of large scale network monitoring systems via innovative smart-home systems, security and facility management network systems and mobile network core equipment development. Holds a degree in engineering and a Masters in Computer Science but has always preferred the practical application of knowledge rather than the pure academic disciplines. Jeremy currently lives in Edinburgh in the UK from where he helps out on the BackupBuddy forum and when he's not tapping the keys he'll be out tapping the pedals on his bicycle or doing other stuff with his partner Christine such as staying fit at their local Spinning studio, improving his swimming technique after finally having learnt after all these years or just generally relaxing, doing the shopping, feeding Biscuit the cat or going to the cinema.
When it comes to website development, security was my major and design was minor.
Thomas has been developing sites with WordPress since 2010. He graduated from college with several degrees and a technical certificate, two being in technology, one in business, and one in accounting. He believes that when it comes to web development, experience has been his best teacher. When not providing support for BackupBuddy for iThemes, Thomas tries to make sure he keeps his mind moving by solving Rubix cubes one-handed. When he wants to just clear his mind, he goes for a drive in his old Ford Roush Mustang GT.
Michael helps out with support for iThemes Sync and iThemes Security. The two most important things to Michael is his girlfriend and their daughter Kennedy. Being a dad has become his passion and purpose. Michael loves the web and is excited to see what it allows users to do in the future. In his free time, he loves watching sports and playing Destiny.
Sure, why not!
Mike has worked in web hosting and support for 10 years, and it all started with the simple response of "Sure, why not" when a friend asked if he was interested in a part-time job working chats for a web hosting company. He has since parlayed that job into working at a few different companies before finding a home here at iThemes where he puts the knowledge he has gained to helping people with BackupBuddy. Over the years, the "Sure, why not" answer has put him into a bunch of different volunteering positions from an animal shelter to a fire department. He likes to keep busy and is always looking for a new skill to learn, which always seems to be relayed back to his work here.
