The Style Manager is a plugin for Builder that can be downloaded directly from your Member Panel. To start using the Style Manager, upload the Style Manager plugin to your Builder site and activate the plugin.
If you’re new to CSS, the Style Manager is a great way to see how Builder handles custom CSS, since you can preview the CSS as you change colors, fonts and add background images. The Style Manager also offers a live preview of the site as you make your style changes, so you can see how the site will look before you publish your Style Manager Styles.
Here are a few tips for using the Builder Style Manager:
Tip #1: Only Use One Global Style Manager Style
Builder allows you to make Style Manager Styles (CSS stylesheets) global — or applied to every Builder Layout (and View). Just make sure you only apply this setting to one Style Manager Style. If you apply the global setting to another Style Manger Style, it can be difficult to troubleshoot or figure out which Style Manager stylesheet is loading. So save yourself some headache in the beginning when creating your Style Manager styles.
Tip #2: Customize the Placement of Style Manager UI Modules
All modules in the Style Manager UI can be rearranged and collapsed. To optimize the Style Manager UI, drag the Preview window to the top to be full-sized. You’ll get a larger view of the preview of your site as you make changes in Style Manager.
Tip #3: Override Global Style Manager Styles in Individual Layouts and Views
Since we recommend having only one global Style Manager Style, you can override the global settings by applying other Styles to individual Layouts or Views. This is helpful if you only want one specific page (Layout) to be styled differently than the rest of your site.
