The PayPal Standard Secure payment option in iThemes Exchange is the PayPal option we recommend due to the additional security.
To enable PayPal Standard Secure, you can select the option in the Quick Setup Wizard or you can go to Exchange > Add-ons and enable it there.
Once it’s been enabled, you will need to enter information from your PayPal account.
To use the PayPal Standard Secure add-on, your PayPal account must either be a Premier or Business account.
The first setting you’ll fill in will be your PayPal email address.
Next, you’ll need to enter your PayPal API credentials.
To find this information, you’ll need to log in to your PayPal account and go to Profile and settings, My Selling Tools and then API access.
If you have already created your API Signature, click View API Signature. If this is your first time doing this, the link will say Request API Signature.
The next page will provide you with your API information. You will copy and paste this information into the corresponding fields in your PayPal Standard Secure settings.
Back on your Profile and settings page, you’ll see a Website Preferences option. Click Update for Website Preferences. Make sure that Auto Return is set to On and paste in the Return URL that you’ll find on the settings page for the PayPal Standard Secure add-on.
Once you have saved the settings in your add-on in in your Website Preferences, your ready to take PayPal purchases on your site.
