Security incidents are a part of our lives in the digital age. For our WordPress sites, we need to be prepared to not only protect our sites from intrusion but to have a plan in place to facilitate recovery quickly. In this session, we’ll review key ways to find and fix security problems before hackers can exploit them, and we’ll also look at key steps to prepare your business and organization for a security event. Having a security incident response plan ready ensures your organization recovers and restores operations to minimize the impact of any disastrous event. We’ll review what an incident response plan looks like, as well as key ways to ensure minimal impact on your customers in the event of a security incident.

7 Ways to Detect & Stop Malicious behavior on your website
Due to a lack of security logging, the average time to detect a breach is 280 days! That is why the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) has named Insufficient Logging and Monitoring as one of the biggest threats to your website. You have to be aware that WordPress login is being attacked, or your content is getting scraped to stop it. You need to know that your website was breached to prevent any more damage from being done. Simply put, WordPress security begins and ends with monitoring and logging.

In this session, we’ll start off exploring how you can customize the lockout screen appearance and make adjustments to the Security Dashboard. Then we’ll dig into what we can do with WordPress Actions and Filters to change the behavior of features in iThemes Security like Two-Factor authentication. Finally, we’ll take a peak at the suite of WP-CLI commands that iThemes Security has to offer to accelerate how you manage iThemes Security.

In this session, we’ll cover packaging, pricing, and selling security services, along with how to educate your clients on the value of your website security services.

HOW TO SET UP CLIENT CARE PLANS: TIPS, TOOLS & SETTINGS
If you’re going to be managing websites for clients, it’s important to create a process and a checklist so that you know your work is consistent from site to site. In this session, we’ll also consider a process for setting up client sites for ongoing management with the iThemes suite of plugins, including iThemes Security, BackupBuddy, and iThemes Sync. We’ll cover tips, tools, and settings designed for client work.
