What do I need to have in order to use a purchase theme?
iThemes makes website templates to be used in the free WordPress software platform. In short, in order to use one of our themes, you’ll need:
- basic knowledge of WordPress and HTML (although we try hard to minimize the HTML part for you)
- a domain name
- web hosting (Linux platform)
- the free WordPress software installed

What kind of support is offered with a purchased Theme?
iThemes has an active support forum with several moderators ready to help answer your questions. This is the first and best place to receive support assistance with the purchase of your theme.
Premium support will include theme issues such as: bug fixes if any under normal operation, how to use basic theme features, basic WordPress help, and basic help with customization. In addition to the above, we also offer screencast tutorials to help explain the primary features in each theme. If you seek more help in the line of modifications to your theme, please check out our Add-On Services page.
SUPPORT HOURS: iThemes actively responds to forum support requests during our normal business hours which are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Central Standard Time.
Can these themes work on WordPress.com?
No, our themes are designed to be used for the self-hosted version of WordPress. [Back to Top]

Are your themes compatible with plugins and widgets?
We style and code our themes to be compatible with most standard plugins and widgets. But due to the sheer numbers of plugins and widgets available we cannot code for them all. Thus, some plugins and widgets may cause the theme to “break” in certain browsers. We make every attempt to prepare our themes for them, but cannot guarantee it will work in every situation. Can I remove the credits in the footer?
Yes, you may only remove the credits if you have purchased one of our packages. [Back to Top]
Are the stock photos featured in the theme demo/preview sites included in the purchase?
No. Due to licensing agreements, we cannot include stock photos/images in our templates. However, for top-quality, royalty-free and affordable photos, check out iStockphoto and Fotolia. [Back to Top]
Are PSDs (layered Photoshop files) included with my theme purchase?
No. Unless otherwise specific, PSD, or layered Photoshop files, are not included with your theme purchase and are not licensed under the GPL. [Back to Top]
What software do you suggest for editing photos?
Two popular image-editing software products are GIMP (free) and Photoshop Elements (paid). [Back to Top]
What if I have more specific questions about customizing or tweaking the themes?

How do I register for the Support Forum?
The support forum is located here. You will use the same login and password that you signed up with to access it. It is the same login that you access the Member’s Only area.[Back to Top]
What does “1 year of theme updates” mean?
When you purchase a theme it comes with a 1 year subscription to theme updates and support. Meaning that when we push out a new version/feature to your theme during your subscription year, you will have immediate access to it. After the 1 year mark the theme is still yours to use and keep, but you will no longer have access to updates or the forum. You would need to re-purchase the product to renew your subscription – much like a magazine subscription. [Back to Top]
